Our Wedding

In March 2021, thanks to a little encouragement from Christine’s Maid of Honor, she created a Match.com profile in search of a wedding date. One swipe later, she matched with Nick…and then promptly ghosted him because, in her words, “He seemed too nice. Something had to be wrong with him.” Thankfully, she came to her senses and gave the poor guy another chance.

Chapter One: A Swipe Worth Taking

After a few great dates, Nick finally decided it was time to ask Christine to be his girlfriend.There was just one small problem...While on their date, unbeknownst to them, his truck was broadsided while it was parked on the street in the Southside, causing thousands of dollars in damage.Despite the chaos (and probably a less-than-perfect mood), he still asked - and thankfully, she said yes!

Chapter Two: A Memorable Beginning

A few months later, they attended the very wedding that inspired Christine to try online dating in the first place.Standing together on the balcony during the reception, after a little liquid courage, Nick looked over and quietly said,"I think I love you..." Christine's immediate response?"YOU THINK?!"As Nick tried to recover from what instantly became one of his most memorable life choices, Christine finally put him out of his misery:"Well...I know I love you too."The rest, as they say, is history.

Chapter Three: "I Think I Love You..."

Life has a funny way of unfolding.Along the way, we've celebrated weddings, welcomed new babies into our families, changed careers, navigated unexpected twists, and slowly built a life that feels perfectly ours.Of course, no chapter about our family would be complete without Harvey and Romeo.Long before Nick came along, they were Christine's constant companions. They were there through some of life's hardest chapters and remained by her side for the happiest ones, too. Loving Christine meant loving them. It didn't take long for Nick to realize they weren't just pets - they were family. Loving Christine meant loving them, and he knew earning their approval was part of the deal.The only catch? He's allergic to cats.Thankfully, a little allergy medicine (and plenty of treats) earned him the coveted title of "The Chosen One" - a distinction every cat owner knows can't be forced.He never hesitated to make room for them in his heart (or surrender his spot on the couch).Today, Nick is hopelessly outnumbered by three personalities who all think they're in charge. He's a proud cat dad, Harvey and Romeo have officially accepted him as one of their own, and he can't wait to officially become their dad.He wouldn't have it any other way.

Chapter Four: Building Our Little Family

Long before Nick and Christine met, Seven Springs had already become one of Christine's favorite places.Growing up, she spent countless weekends at Seven Springs and Hidden Valley with her parents, their lifelong friends, and all of the kids. Every winter brought another trip to Hidden Valley and every fall, that same group returned to Seven Springs for Autumnfest - a tradition filled with laughter, fresh mountain air, and memories that would last a lifetime.When Nick came along, they decided to continue that tradition together, creating one of their own.Together, they returned to the mountains year after year - spending crisp fall weekends at Autumnfest, exploring the resort, and creating memories of their own. Seven Springs became more than a destination; it became the place where the past and the future came together. Neither of them knew those annual trips would one day become the backdrop for the biggest moments of their lives.

Chapter Five: Coming Full Circle

By 2025, everyone seemed to have the same question:"So...when's the wedding?"Little did Christine (and the Bridal Party/Blue Crew) know, Nick had already been secretly planning the answer.Beginning in June 2025, he spent months shopping for and custom designing the perfect engagement ring - all without Christine suspecting a thing.When their annual Autumnfest weekend at Seven Springs arrived that October, Christine thought they were simply continuing one of their favorite traditions.Instead, Nick chose the place that had become woven into their story to ask the biggest question of his life.She said yes, of course.Looking back, it couldn't have happened anywhere else.The place where childhood memories became lifelong traditions...where two people built traditions of their own...would now become the place where forever began.And suddenly...#RothertLateThanNever made perfect sense.

Chapter Six: Worth The Wait

Since that first date, life has brought countless adventures, unforgettable memories, a few unexpected plot twists, and many reasons to lean on one another. Through every high and every challenge, we've grown stronger together.Now we're counting down the days until February 27, 2027, when we'll return to Seven Springs to begin our next chapter - the very place where so many of our favorite memories were made.

Chapter Seven: Our Next Chapter

Some stories take a little longer to write.Ours led us back to the place where childhood memories became lifelong traditions, where a surprise proposal turned into forever, and where we'll soon begin our greatest adventure yet.We can't wait to celebrate with all of you at the place that has meant so much to us for so many years.
