Our Wedding

In March 2021, thanks to a little encouragement from Christine’s Maid of Honor, she created a Match.com profile in search of a wedding date. One swipe later, she matched with Nick…and then promptly ghosted him because, in her words, “He seemed too nice. Something had to be wrong with him.” Thankfully, she came to her senses and gave the poor guy another chance.

Chapter One: A Swipe Worth Taking

After a few great dates, Nick finally decided it was time to ask Christine to be his girlfriend.There was just one small problem...While on their date, unbeknownst to them, his truck was broadsided while it was parked on the street in the Southside, causing thousands of dollars in damage.Despite the chaos (and probably a less-than-perfect mood), he still asked - and thankfully, she said yes!

Chapter Two: A Memorable Beginning

A few months later, they attended the very wedding that inspired Christine to try online dating in the first place.Standing together on the balcony during the reception, after a little liquid courage, Nick looked over and quietly said,"I think I love you..." Christine's immediate response?"YOU THINK?!"As Nick tried to recover from what instantly became one of his most memorable life choices, Christine finally put him out of his misery:"Well...I know I love you too."The rest, as they say, is history.

Chapter Three: "I Think I Love You..."

Life has a funny way of unfolding.Along the way, we've celebrated weddings, welcomed new babies into our families, changed careers, navigated unexpected twists, and slowly built a life that feels perfectly ours.Of course, no chapter about our family would be complete without Harvey and Romeo.Long before Nick came along, they were Christine's constant companions. They were there through some of life's hardest chapters and remained by her side for the happiest ones, too. Loving Christine meant loving them. It didn't take long for Nick to realize they weren't just pets - they were family. Loving Christine meant loving them, and he knew earning their approval was part of the deal.The only catch? He's allergic to cats.Thankfully, a little allergy medicine (and plenty of treats) earned him the coveted title of "The Chosen One" - a distinction every cat owner knows can't be forced.He never hesitated to make room for them in his heart (or surrender his spot on the couch).Today, Nick is hopelessly outnumbered by three personalities who all think they're in charge. He's a proud cat dad, Harvey and Romeo have officially accepted him as one of their own, and he can't wait to officially become their dad.He wouldn't have it any other way.

Chapter Four: Building Our Little Family

Long before Nick and Christine met, Seven Springs had already become one of Christine's favorite places.Growing up, she spent countless weekends at Seven Springs and Hidden Valley with her parents, their lifelong friends, and all of the kids. Every winter brought another trip to Hidden Valley and every fall, that same group returned to Seven Springs for Autumnfest - a tradition filled with laughter, fresh mountain air, and memories that would last a lifetime.When Nick came along, they decided to continue that tradition together, creating one of their own.Together, they returned to the mountains year after year - spending crisp fall weekends at Autumnfest, exploring the resort, and creating memories of their own. Seven Springs became more than a destination; it became the place where the past and the future came together. Neither of them knew those annual trips would one day become the backdrop for the biggest moments of their lives.

Chapter Five: Coming Full Circle

By 2025, everyone seemed to have the same question:"So...when's the wedding?"Little did Christine (and the Bridal Party/Blue Crew) know, Nick had already been secretly planning the answer.Beginning in June 2025, he spent months shopping for and custom designing the perfect engagement ring - all without Christine suspecting a thing.When their annual Autumnfest weekend at Seven Springs arrived that October, Christine thought they were simply continuing one of their favorite traditions.Instead, Nick chose the place that had become woven into their story to ask the biggest question of his life.She said yes, of course.Looking back, it couldn't have happened anywhere else.The place where childhood memories became lifelong traditions...where two people built traditions of their own...would now become the place where forever began.And suddenly...#RothertLateThanNever made perfect sense.

Chapter Six: Worth The Wait

Since that first date, life has brought countless adventures, unforgettable memories, a few unexpected plot twists, and many reasons to lean on one another. Through every high and every challenge, we've grown stronger together.Now we're counting down the days until February 27, 2027, when we'll return to Seven Springs to begin our next chapter - the very place where so many of our favorite memories were made.

Some stories take a little longer to write.Ours led us back to the place where childhood memories became lifelong traditions, where a surprise proposal turned into forever, and where we'll soon begin our greatest adventure yet.We can't wait to celebrate with all of you at the place that has meant so much to us for so many years.

Some have been with us since childhood, some joined the story along the way - but every one of them has left their mark on our lives.Now enough about the bride and groom...here are some other people that made it all happen:

The Bride's Side

Matron of HonorOur friendship began before we did. Our parents were best friends long before we came along, so lifelong friendship was almost a foregone conclusion. Growing up, I wanted to do everything she did. She was the friend I looked up to, copied relentlessly, and probably annoyed more than I realized at the time. Through every season (and believe me, there have been plenty), she's been there with honesty, loyalty, and sometimes a good kick in the pants before I even knew I needed it. She encouraged me to give online dating a chance so I'd have a date to her wedding...and unknowingly helped write the first chapter of this love story. At the end of the day, she isn't just my Matron of Honor - she's my sister in every way that matters. From childhood adventures to wedding days, we've been side by side through it all, and I can’t imagine beginning this chapter of my life without her.

BridesmaidSome friendships are instant, and ours started on the very first day of beauty school. At a time when I was finally learning who I was after a rough couple of years, Brittny quickly became my ride or die, my vault of secrets, and my forever “we listen and we don’t judge” bestie. She’s been by my side through life’s highest highs and lowest lows, celebrating every victory and reminding me of my strength when I couldn’t always see it myself. She welcomed Nick into our little circle from the very beginning…even if she spent a few years lovingly reminding him that he was moving at a snail’s pace when it came to the big stuff. When I asked her to be a bridesmaid, she couldn’t stop crying. Those weren’t just happy tears – they were tears from someone who had been waiting for this moment almost as long as I had and couldn’t be happier to see me marry the love of my life.

BridesmaidWhen I started dating Nick, I knew I was getting him – I didn’t realize just how much I would gain with his family, too. From the beginning, Steph welcomed me with open arms. Over the years, she’s become so much more than “Nick’s sister.” She’s been one of my biggest cheerleaders through some of the hardest changes and biggest milestones of my life (including dealing with her brother lol) – celebrating the good, encouraging me through the hard, and reminding me along the way just how loved and supported I am. And then there are her boys, who gave me one of my favorite titles: Aunt NeNe. They call just to tell me about their day, randomly ask when they can hang out with me, and basically think I’m the greatest person ever while their Uncle NeNe (demoted from Uncle Nicky) is simply the guy who happens to come along when I do. I may have met Steph because I fell in love with her brother, but somewhere along the way, his family became family of my own, too. Having her beside me when I officially become her sister feels exactly right.

Tux vs. Suit: What's the Difference?

We would love for our guests to join us in formal attire. Lean into date night -- dress up, spice it up, have some fun with it!Suits and ties (or a sport coat with dress pants), cocktail or midi dresses, floor-length dresses -- whatever makes you feel your best for an evening of dinner, dancing, and celebrating with us.Tuxedos and gowns are certainly welcome, but absolutely not required.

A Winter Wedding Note

February in the Laurel Highlands can bring just about anything (although we are hoping for a winter wonderland backdrop!), so please dress with winter weather in mind. Our ceremony and reception will be indoors, but we hope you'll join us outside briefly for a sparkler photo later in the evening. A warm coat and winter-friendly footwear (or a backup pair!) may be your best friend.

Dress Code

When should I arrive?

- Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM, with final seating at 3:50 PM. If you’re joining us for the evening, we recommend arriving no later than 3:30 PM to allow plenty of time to park, make your way inside, and find your seat.- If you’re staying at Seven Springs, please visit our Accommodations page for check-in information and arrival recommendations.

Where should I park?

- If you’re staying at Seven Springs:Park in the hotel lot near the Tyrol Lift, directly in front of the hotel and opposite the Trillium Spa side. Once you arrive on property, follow signs for the Hotel Lobby (Valet parking is available for an additional fee).- If you’re joining us for the evening:Park in the lot to the right of the Conference Center (Building B), near the green awning and furthest right portion of the lot. Follow signs toward Snow Tubing as you enter the resort – you’ll be headed in the right direction! Complimentary self-parking is available.

Where do I go once I arrive?

- The green awning to the right of Building B is the Winterberry portico and provides the most direct and accessible entrance to the Winterberry Room from the parking lot.- If you enter through Building A, head to the right and follow signs toward the Winterberry Room. We’ll also have wedding signage posted to help guide you! Please note that this route includes stairs and an elevator, so we recommend using the Building B entrance whenever possible.

Will there be a shuttle?

Yes! A complimentary resort shuttle will be available to and from the Hotel Lobby entrance before the ceremony and again after the reception.

What should I wear?

We’d love for you to dress up with us! Please visit our Dress Code page for attire recommendations, examples, and a little winter-wedding inspiration.

Is there a coat check/somewhere to leave my things?

Yes! A coat check will be available for coats and winter essentials, along with a designated shoe rack for anyone bringing a change of shoes. Feel free to arrive prepared for the February weather and swap into something more celebration-friendly once you’re inside!

Are the ceremony and reception indoors?

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors. We do hope to sneak outside for a sparkler photo later in the evening, so remember where you put that coat!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We’re having an unplugged ceremony and kindly ask that phones and cameras stay tucked away while we say “I do.” Our incredible photographers will be capturing every moment, and we’d love to look out and see your faces – not your screens! Once the ceremony is over, take as many photos as you like (in fact we encourage it!).

What happens between the ceremony and reception?

- Following the ceremony, we’ll transition right into cocktail hour! Guests will move to the opposite side of the Winterberry Room to enjoy cocktails, stationed bites, and butler-passed hors d’oeuvres while our event team transforms the room for the evenings celebration.- We’ve also put a fun little twist on the traditional guest book – very us, to say the least! Be sure to stop by during cocktail hour and make yourself a lasting part of our wedding day. We can’t wait to see what everyone creates!

Will there be alcohol/do I need cash?

An open bar will be available during cocktail hour and again for three hours following dinner. No need to bring cash for drinks – we’ve got you covered! (Feel free to bring cash to tip our awesome bartenders though!) If you plan to drink, please remember to bring a valid photo ID.

Are children invited?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will only include the children specifically named on their invitation. If your little one isn’t listed, please enjoy a well-deserved date night!

Can I bring a plus-one?

We kindly ask that only the guests specifically named on your invitation attend. If a plus-one has been included with your invitation, it will be indicated when you RSVP. Thank you for helping us keep our celebration to the guest list we’ve planned for!

How should I RSVP?

You may RSVP using the card included with your invitation or right here on our website – whichever is easiest! We just ask that all responses are received by the RSVP deadline so we know who we’ll be celebrating with.

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Kindly note that if we do not receive your RSVP by the date listed on the invitation, you will be marked as “not attending.” We would truly love to celebrate with you, but we must provide a final quest count to our vendors and are unable to accommodate late responses.

What if I'm running late?

We love you (and we know the bride is notorious for this), but please don’t! Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM, with final seating at 3:50 PM. Once the processional begins, late arrivals may be asked to wait outside the ceremony space until an appropriate time to enter. Please plan to arrive early so you don’t miss the “I do’s”!

Is there anything happening Sunday morning? We're not ready to leave!

Join us Sunday morning for a casual farewell brunch – come as you are, grab some breakfast, and help us wrap up the weekend together. Whether you wake up bright-eyed and bushytailed or moving a little more slowly (and needing yesterday’s sunglasses indoors…) after celebrating with us, we’ll have brunch waiting!
